Cheap and Dirty

14 07 2007

So this may end up being a cheap and dirty post. I found this article [link] to be interesting, though I have to say that “1 in 3 IKEA customers say they get more satisfaction from cleaning out their closets than from having sex” is maybe a bit hard to believe. Maybe they don’t have sex to begin with?

For the past 2 weeks I have been working on a presentation for a ultra-luxe resort in the Carribean. It’s pretty awesome. The client basically purchased over half of the island and is developing all of it. I sat in on the presentation earlier this week. I think it went very well. It will be huge if the firm gets the project. It kind of makes me want to hold off on grad school just so I can work on this project. That’s bad, right?

My mom got a puppy about a week and a half ago. Her name is Lily. She looks adorable.

UPDATE:  Last night at dinner, somewhere between 2 glasses of sangria and a basket full of tortilla chips, I realized that if I were a character from Sex and the City I would probably be Charlotte.  On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being “big sissy queen,” the fact that such a thought even crossed my mind probably makes me an 8.  I’m so gay.  Seriously though, I am so a Charlotte.

Little DAAP House Update

17 05 2007

Here’s a progress photo of the art student’s house. I hope it turns out well. She has her thesis proposal posted to the side of it and it sounds really interesting. It’s titled “The House That was Haunted Before it was Built.”

The Little House in DAAP

8 05 2007

I’m sitting in the cafe at DAAP waiting for my next class to start. I could be working on any one of the many projects that are due in the next two weeks, but instead I’m writing this. Big surprise right? Anyway, there’s a little house being built in the middle of the cafe. I kid you not. I think it is a fine arts student’s senior project. It’s two floors. Seriously, it has a staircase, windows and everything. I have heard that there will be some kind of hole in the roof where you can poke your head through and view something artsy. It’s pretty freaking awesome. Only at DAAP. I’ll post pictures of it later today.
